Ryan Eastman is turning heads as a talented, committed rider with good future potential. Like other riders who have done well in the program, Ryan "found his sport" as a Team Swift rider.
Ryan has been active in many sports. He played soccer since he was 4, and just two years later, at age 6, he started Tae Kwon Do and became a Black Belt at 10. He later played Class 1 soccer at a serious level and ran track in junior high school.
His cycling career started unceremoniously after purchasing a bike online and riding around the neighborhood like a maniac in long hair and jeans. His good friend Nate's Mom invited him "for a real ride -- spandex and all". He accepted, and was immediately hooked. He came out on a Team Swift ride, soon had a new bike, and jumped into bike racing with both feet.
Since then, Ryan's cycling career has become progressively more serious, more disciplined and more important to him. As he prepares for more challenging sports objectives in 2009, he also takes on the responsibility of more leadership of younger riders within Team Swift. Just as he benefitted from the guidance of recently graduated Team Swift captain Tyler Brandt, Ryan now has the opportunity to share his experiences and support for his teammates within the team as the new captain.
